Many patients choose LASIK for its quick recovery, but when the cornea is somewhat thin or the prescription is high and corneal tissue must be conserved as much as possible, LASEK is considered instead of LASIK. LASEK is also chosen over LASIK for safety when there are scars or wounds on the corneal surface.

Yes. Vision correction only reshapes the cornea, so cataract surgery - which removes the clouded lens inside the eye - is possible at any time.

Street lights may look hazy and spread out, but in most cases this improves naturally with time, so there is no need to worry.
* Night glare usually eases within 1-3 months, though the adjustment period can be 6-12 months depending on the individual.

After LASEK, UV light can cause corneal haze, so wear sunglasses outdoors in strong sunlight for at least about 1 month.
After LASIK or SMILE, corneal haze does not develop the way it can after LASEK, so sunglasses are not strictly required.
