SMILE LASIK — what is it?
SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction) uses a laser tocreate a lenticule (corneal stromal tissue) inside the cornea,then removes it through a minimal ~1–2mm incision to correct vision.
Unlike LASIK, which creates a corneal flap, or LASEK, which removes the epithelium,it corrects vision while reducing corneal damage,so there is less pain and faster recovery.
